John Terzo is the Site Leader/General Manager of the Amazon Sort Center in Theodore, Alabama and has been with the company for 2.5yrs. After completing his MBA from Vanderbilt University he was recruited by Amazon to open the sort center in November of 2017. The sort center was a strategic addition for the Amazon fulfillment network to serve the gulf coast region as well as rural areas within Louisiana and Mississippi. The sort center, known as MOB5, is an operations leader in the sort center network for Amazon and often used as a benchmark for other sites. Prior to Amazon he worked in manufacturing for Electrolux Major Appliances holding various roles in the cooking division such as Director of Supply Chain and Director of Manufacturing and Technology Operations. Electrolux produces key US brands like Frigidaire and is known as a global leader in cooking technology and appliances. The plant, located in Springfield, TN, is the largest volume cooking appliance factory in North America with a work force of more than 3,000 employees. John is also an Army veteran with combat deployments to Iraq. Serving in roles such as Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, and Company Commander of heavy armor Cavalry units, John spent lots of time blowing things up with M1A2 Abrams tanks and working with the world’s finest volunteer soldiers. In 2013 John left the Army at the rank of Captain in order to pursue his MBA and spend more time at home with his wife of 18yrs and 4 children ages (11, 9, 7, and 7). Yes they had 4 kids under the age of 4!
